”Listen to your own voice, your own soul. Too many people listen to the noise of the world instead of themselves.” – Leon Brown
I’m excited for 2018 to start. For me it will be a year of self care, transformation and realization. Like I’ve said before, I will continue to follow my heart and do more of what I love. But I will also put more focus on self care. Because that is something I haven’t been very good at this past year.
I started off 2017 by being burned out for the second time in my life. And as this year comes to an end I am feeling drained and exhausted once again. It has been a hectic and eventful year for me, and I haven’t been good at taking a break when I’ve needed one. I easily forget that I am not wonder woman, nor a robot, and that I do not have an infinite amount of energy. My body and my soul need rest to recharge. So 2018 will be the year I break the habit of overworking myself and start taking care of myself instead. Because I only get one body in this lifetime, and I want it to be healthy.
In all its haste, 2017 has also brought many good times. Björn and I moved into our new house, I got my drivers licence and I started working with newborn babies. We travelled to different places, like London, Ischia, Copenhagen and Mallorca, and we got to see Guns’n Roses, Rolling Stones and Scorpions, amongst others, in concert. I also started recording again, made my own website (with help) and started this blog. But the best thing of all was that I got to spend every day with the one I love by my side.
I hope 2018 will be good to me, my family and my friends. I will do my best to make it so. I wish you all nothing but the best and hope that your 2018 will be an amazing year, filled with love, light and kindness!
I will be starting 2018 with a 30 days yoga challenge by my favourite yoga teacher, Adriene Mishler (Yoga with Adriene), as a first step to care for myself and my body. If you’d like to join me, here’s a link to her Youtube channel. The challenge starts on Tuesday, January 2nd.
Happy new year!
